De Waregem Koerse is begonnen. De eerste toeschouwers sijpelen binnen op de renbaan, waar de sfeer met de minuut oploopt. Voor velen in de regio is dit de hoogdag van het jaar.
Achter de schermen is het alle hands aan dek. De paarden krijgen nu hun laatste check-ups, meldt nieuwsblad.be. Die medische en technische controles zijn cruciaal. Ze garanderen dat elk dier in topconditie de baan op gaat.
De klok tikt door naar het eerste hoogtepunt van de middag. De eerste paardenrace staat gepland om 14 uur, zo bevestigt hln.be. De stroom bezoekers naar de renbaan neemt alleen maar toe.
Wat de rest van de dag brengt, moet nog blijken. De exacte deelnemerslijst en programmapunten zijn voorlopig beperkt bekend. Eén ding staat vast: de organisatie heeft alles op alles gezet om bezoekers een onvergetelijke dag te bezorgen. De mix van topsport en het sociale gedoe rondom de Koerse trekt jaarlijks een breed publiek.
De komende uren volgen de races elkaar in snel tempo op. De aandacht gaat naar de kracht van de paarden en het tactisch inzicht van de ruiters. De organisatie houdt alles nauwlettend in de gaten om een vlot verloop te garanderen.
